Drum roll please! Yesterday, at a gala at London's Savoy Theatre, we were thrilled to announce the winners of our 2018 Stiles + Drewe Prize!
Our Mentorship Award, generously supported by Music Theatre International Europe is given to 'The Season' by Jim Barne and Kit Buchan. Kit and Jim will receive 12 months of mentorship including a writing retreat with us in France, two panel-leg progress labs and an industry showcase presentation of the show next year.
Adam Wachter was named the winner of our prize for Best New Song for his number 'You and Me'. He took home £1,000 to put towards developing his work. Huge thanks to Joanne Benjamin and Clive Chenery from The Entertainment Business who support this prize with us.
The gala was presented by our dear friends at Mercury Musical Developments and the Stephen Sondheim Society. Alex Cardall won the Stephen Sondheim Society Student Performer of the Year award.
Huge thanks to MMD, the Sondheim Society, to all at the Savoy Theatre, our fellow Best New Song judges Susie McKenna and Sharon D. Clarke and our Mentorship Award judges Grant Olding, Amelia Ferrand-Rook and James Dacre.
Congratulations to all those writers who were finalists in this year's Prize. You're an inspiration to us all!
